Dear Parishioner

We are now into the second month since we said farewell to Fred and Gill Still.  Abbotskerswell Vicarage, which is the property of the Church Commissioners, will be shortly rented to tenants by their agents the Exeter Diocesan Property Service.  I do hope you will be able to make this known in the wider community so that people do not trouble the new tenants with Parish Church business.

Should you require a Priest or wish to discuss any matter concerning Abbotskerswell Parish Church please contact the Parish Church Office at Kingskerswell (please see details above), where all correspondence from all three Parish Churches will be dealt with, along with enquires for Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals.  The Office is situated opposite Kingskerswell Parish Church in a green Portakabin.  I do not have an office at the Vicarage. The Office is usually open at the following times:

Tuesday

9 00 am – 1 30 pm

Wednesday

9 00 am – 1 30 pm

Friday

9 00 am – 1 30 pm

At other times during the day or in the evening I am often working in the Parish Office when the telephone will be answered, at other times please leave a message on the answer-phone.  I am quite happy for people to contact me outside the office hours.  However, Monday is usually my day off.   It is sometimes helpful for people to make appointments when I am able to spend more time with them.

I should be most grateful if you would let me have your full contact details on the attached form.  This will then enable better communication between you and your Parish Church.  These details will help me keep in better contact with everyone in a little more personal way.  You will find a post box at the back of the Parish Church for completed forms.  For those with better computer skills than mine your contact details can be emailed to the Parish Church Office – john@w3church.co.uk

You may recall that in my July letter I mentioned that future clergy ministry in our three parishes would be discussed at a Deanery Pastoral Committee Meeting in September.     The Meeting was held but, because of more pressing business, our situation was not discussed.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

John F Leonard

Priest in charge
